Dan Ward from Bristol recently contacted us here at the fundraising team to ask for some t-shirts and a fundraising pack. Dan and his friends were taking part in a Tough Mudder challenge, raising funds for dementia research.
Designed and created by British Special Forces to test mental and physical strength, along with teamwork; it’s not for the faint hearted.
For the uninitiated, Tough Mudder is an endurance event where participants attempt ten to 12-mile-long military-style obstacle courses. Designed and created by British Special Forces to test mental and physical strength, along with teamwork; it’s not for the faint hearted.
We always ask our fabulous fundraisers to keep us up to date, and Dan kindly sent us some photos from the day which we’re sharing with you.
Our champs ran over 11 miles and took on over 21 obstacles; ranging from icy water jumps, scaling 12 foot walls, 15 foot platform jumps and more. They’re expecting to rise over £1,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK and we thought you’d like to see some of their (muddy) shots from the day.
If this inspires you to take on your own challenge event, see our fundraising pages. Or if you’d prefer a more sedate fundraising experience, we’ve plenty of ideas for you to help raise funds to defeat dementia.
